Bungou Stray Dogs is a seinen manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It has been serialized monthly in Young Ace magazine since 2012. It is currently an ongoing series. It has an anime adaptation consisting of three 12-episode seasons and one feature length movie by Studio Bones. It also has companion light novels by Asagiri and a side story called Bungou Stray Dogs Gaiden, which is both a light novel and an accompanying manga. One light novel, BEAST - White Akutagawa, Black Atsushi, is being adapted into a manga by Shiwasu Hoshikawa and is serialized in Shonen Ace magazine.

The story follows the members of the supernatural organization called The Armed Detective Agency through their everyday lives. The series mostly follows the main character Nakajima Atsushi, a young man with the ability to turn into a white tiger, who joins the others in the detective agency to perform jobs such as solving crimes and mysteries and fighting against the enemy organization known as the Port Mafia. What makes Bungou Stray Dogs so unique is that every character is based on and named after a real life author, with their supernatural abilities being based on and named after their works. For example to a more western audience: Francis Scott Fitzgerald makes an appearance in the series, with the supernatural ability to spend money to physically strengthen himself, this ability being appropriately named "The Great Fitzgerald" after The Great Gatsby.

This community welcomes all posts and submissions and is open membership, meaning anybody can join and get posting if they please. Feel free to post anything directly to the community or link to where the content is! Please see the rules below for some general, simple guidelines for conduct.

1.    Absolutely no hateful or inflamatory speech. This includes the use of slurs and anything that incites violence or hatred against another person or group of people. Just be nice to each other while you're here.

2.    Explicit content is allowed. However, it must be tagged appropriately and placed under a cut with any applicable warnings if posted directly to the community. You can link out to content, but you must accurately describe and warn for the content.

3.    No ship hate. Period. All ships are allowed here. Please warn for ships that contain themes of abuse, incest, and pedophilia or adult/minor or large age gaps so that those who are uncomfortable with them can avoid that content. You may discuss ships in however much depth you please and even make posts that are in the vein of "why should you ship [x]" and other meta, but take care not to dunk on other ships in the process to boost your own, and absolutely do not harass or demean other users for shipping something you don't like.

4.    Spoilers must be cut and tagged as such. This comm is not spoiler-free, but spoilers must be tagged using the appropriate tags and utilize cuts where necessary. Please be respectful! This comm considers all of the manga where the anime third season left off to be spoilers, as the manga is not easily accessible on a monthly basis save for the hard work of fan translators. If by chance another anime season airs, each new episode will be considered spoilers until the next episode airs (this is to be kind to people who may be watching on Crunchyroll, which delays new episodes by a week for free users.)

5.    Do not steal or repost content. Please only post directly content that you have made that doesn't utilize material you don't have explicit permission to use. When sharing fanart, official art, or news, please link directly to the original post, wherever it may be.

The admin recommends...
That you buy the manga via Gempak Starz, a Kadokawa licensed (so official) company. I recommend this because in my opinion, their translation of the manga is far more true to the characters, and is mostly free of clunky, awkward dialogue.
